As Quebec&#8217;s leading natural gas distributor, it operates a network of underground pipelines spanning more than 10,000 km, serving over 300 municipalities and reaching more than 205,000 customers. <em>\u00c9nergir<\/em> is involved in the development and operation of promising and innovative energy projects, such as natural gas as a fuel and liquefied natural gas as a replacement for more emissive energies, wind and solar power generation, and biomethane valorization.<\/p><p><strong>Challenges<\/strong><\/p><p>In 2009, <em>Energir<\/em> is working to extend its market reach into the road transport sector &#8211; responsible for 40% of greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions in Quebec. The company is looking to displace diesel fuel in favor of natural gas for vehicles (NGV) for the province of Quebec&#8217;s major truck fleet owners and managers.
